The IMAA Creed
All students at Innovative Martial Arts Academy are expected to know the creed and be able to recite it before each class. The IMAA creed is:
I will develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that could reduce my mental growth or physical health.
I will develop self-discipline in order to bring out the best in myself and others.
I will use common sense before self defense and never be abusive or offensive.
This is a black belt school, we are dedicated, motivated, and on a quest to be our best.
What Does It Mean?
Martial Arts is not just about your physical self – it’s about your mental self as well. In order to be a successful martial artist, you need to work on both your mind and your body. That is what our creed is about: developing and growing in a positive manner both mentally and physically. We aspire to be the best version of ourselves on and off the mat. We will accomplish that by our:
- dedication
- self-discipline
- motivation
How Do We Follow Our Creed?
We follow our creed by living by and practicing the four core values. These four core values are:
- Integrity
- Discipline
- Focus
- Perseverance
By practicing each of these core values every time you step inside the dojo, you will succeed in becoming the best martial artist you can be.
